Why am I not losing weight? – this common question is asked by most of the people facing weight-related issues. Some say I have stubborn fats, which is one of the reasons for not losing weight. Some say I have this weight constant for years. What exactly is this weight?
Exercise And Losing Weight
If a person starts following a well-balanced diet routine, eating at fixed times, eating in less portion, avoid eating at intervals, and many such eating habits, but here what they are lacking is some daily workout. Eating less or even right will help not gain weight but do nothing to the already accumulated fat. To burn the previous fat, we require some workout. When both things i.e., food and exercise, are combined, weight loss will happen more effectively.
Some people say they have started working out vigorously 1-hour at gym, 1 hour walk, assuming that if I am working so much, I have the right to eat anything and everything. They are doing nothing but lose muscle mass, starting pains in different parts of the body, and still not losing weight; they do not pay attention to calorie input and calorie output.
The calories that we are taking in should always be less than the calories that we are burning, or at least, it should be equal. But not the opposite.
Losing Weight Is Different For Males And Females
During post-pregnancy, females eat a lot of fatty foods following the standard method; this will produce the right amount of milk, providing good nutrients to the baby, not knowing that the fat is challenging to get rid of later. If that belly fat is taken care of immediately after delivery, it would be much easier to tone the belly fat in the right way.
Females tend to finish off the remaining food in the bowl during the lunch or dinner. Also, with so much work to do at home, they have no time for any exercise. Females assume that what they are doing throughout the day is nothing less than any workout—not knowing that daily routine of work hours hardly burns any calories.
Males, who sit for long hours working on a computer, do nothing but eat snacks at intervals out of stress, no time to exercise, and tend to eat less during lunch and dinner; they do not get all the required nutrients. The best part of the weight is that people eat out of boredom, or you can say stress. Once they start gaining weight, they do not want to stop excess eating, saying that no matter what they do, weight is not going down, so eat more.
Proteins And Weight Loss
Some people say that we intake lots of protein without checking the nutritional value of food – still does not lose weight. Hardly any protein comes without fats. So eating protein is also an increasing the intake of calories indirectly.
Importance Of Yoga In Weight Loss
Here, I cannot stop mentioning yoga for weight loss as it is not only physical but also includes diet and helps reduce stress. So no stress, no overeating. Yoga explains a yogic diet, which explains about a balanced diet in every meal. So no chance of putting on weight, and yes, the physical Asanas will play the role of physical exercise, and some breathing techniques will help in breathing as well, helping to remove toxins from the body.
Allergy And Weight Loss
If a person has some food allergy and does not stop eating it, inflammation occurs, which again is a culprit to weight gain. Chronic inflammation causes insulin resistance, leading to weight gain, as insulin regulates the body’s ability to metabolize the food which has been taken. It leads to weight gain, especially near the lower abdomen area.
Age Matters
Females who try to lose weight in their early forties face many problems; there are many degenerative changes in them by this age, leading to knee pain, making them unable to walk. Walking is the only exercise that females prefer as they have no time for themselves out of family responsibilities.
Here again, yoga plays a very important role in learning attachment with detachment, which means fulfilling all the duties but not overworking for the family, rather finding at least 1 hour for self in which yoga asanas and pranayama can be done.
