    7 Yoga Poses For Healthy Hair To Prevent Hair Loss

    Human hair is remarkable, for it adds so much to one’s good looks and personality. Different people have different hair types – it can be coarse, medium or fine, curly, wavy, straight, thick, thin, or in-between. It all depends on the inherent structure and the nourishment provided to the hair. But are you aware of the possibility of yoga poses for healthy hair?

    The most effective hair growth period in women is between 15 to 40 yrs when they produce maximum estrogen. Hair never stops growing; the rate at which it grows changes with biological and environmental changes.

    Many factors affect the growth of hair. They include age, diet, general health, and changes in the weather. Cutting/shaving hair on any part of the body does not affect hair’s future growth or texture, but with proper hair care, it can.

    1. Adhomukhasvasana

    How To Do It

    • Stand on your knees and keep your palms on the yoga mat.
    • Rise on your knees and move your legs back to form an inverted V shape with your body.
    • Straightened your knees and arms and push abdomen inward.
    • Keep your head and your eyes on your navel.
    • Breathe in and breathe out. Stay in that position for five long breaths.

    • It is a beneficial yoga pose for the back, head, sinus, etc.
    • It helps with depression, stress, insomnia, etc.
    • When your head is down for a couple of minutes, the blood flows into the head; it regenerates the scalp and hair follicles. It stimulates blood circulation of the scalp, strengthening hair follicles and assisting in hair regrowth.

    How To Do It

    • Kneel.
    • Interlock your fingers and bend your head with your interlocked hands.
    • Raise your legs gently to stand upside down in perpendicular to the floor.
    • Keep your legs close and arms straight.
    • Once your body is stable in this pose, try and maintain the balance for a few seconds.
    • Relax your toes and exhale & inhale in the position.


    • It improves blood circulation, which helps in reducing hair loss, balding, and thinning of hair.

    • Kneel on your heels with a straight back, neck, and heels close together.
    • Keep your hands in a relaxed position on your thighs with palms down and keep your head and vision straight.
    • Stay in that position for at least 30 seconds and take deep, long breathes.
    • Relax and stretch once you are done.

    • Lie down on your back. Raise your legs and back up straightly.
    • Support your body with your arms. Keep your buttocks up and straight.
    • Let the body rest on your shoulders with your hands supporting it, keeping your spine straight.
    • Keep your neck straight, toes stiff, and the eyes on your feet.
    • Hold this position for a few seconds while inhaling and exhaling and then release.


    • Extremely good for the thyroid and affects hair fall. The best remedy for hair growth.
    • It is helpful for dry and dull hair.
    • It helps nourish hair by flowing blood to the head, thus hydrating the scalp and giving you luscious hair.

    • Stand straight. Keep your legs close to each other.
    • Lift arms and take a deep breath.
    • Without exhaling, bend forward, keeping your arm straight.
    • Touch the beside your heels with your palms and the position for a few seconds.
    • Keep your head and eyes down, and your neck in a relaxed position.
    • Pull in your abdominal muscle.
    • Rise while exhaling.
    • Repeat it a few times.

    • Bend your head forward so that it touches your knees.
    • Allow the crown of your head touches the floor.
    • Keep your arms straight.
    • Hold your heels with your hands.
